Hank C. Burnette - "Rocky Road Blues"

"Rocky Road Blues"...a 12-bar blues, with words and music created by the Godfather of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe and copyrighted by Peer Int'l in 1946, the
same year as it was released as Monroe's first Columbia record after leaving RCA Victor. Not surprisingly it shares its title and the first verse by bluesman Kokomo Arnold's 1937 recording, a formula which was quite common amoung white hillbilly/bluegrass musicians at the
time. Since I'm personally not much of a bluegrass fan (with a few exceptions!), I got my first exposure to this track from listening to Ronnie Self's and Gene Vincent's versions and got my inspiration for my own version that way. It was included on my 2nd UK Sonet album, "Rockabilly Gasseroonie", but the version here is a slightly different one with an added guitar solo played with the opposite end of a pencil, would you believe
(the things you do to get attention, ha, ha!)! Not much more to add but perhaps a change of title to "Goofy Road Blues, lol!! And, as usual, a click on the HQ button wouldn't go amiss, thanks!!!! Enjoy....
