@jmem55 I understand it took place in Mexico -- the title of the conference kind of gives that away, don't you think? And you are wrong. I have looked for this speech by Sapolsky and there is no version available without the Spanish overdub.
-
@sleepcity ¿No has tomado en cuenta que fue una conferencia en México para hispano parlantes? Si lo quieres escuchar en inglés, hay otros videos de él totalmente en ingles.
-
Sapolsky is saying about SIDS deasise, doctors use to research in poor people corpeses, so thats no normal people, so they came with wrong diagnosis for SIDS desease, because they only reserched poor people corpeses.
-
No worries. Your English is better than my Spanish. Thanks for the information!

Sapolsky does not speak Spanish as far as I know. Swahili yes, Spanish no. :)
You can hear him clearly speaking English in the video but it was overdubbed with the Spanish translation. I'm asking for an upload of the original English audio -- they did this for other English-language speakers at the festival (see the Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Dinesh D'Souza, Rabbi Boteach, etc. debate).

very bad english, just trying too help, because you deserve it, because evreyone deserves it, but even more, polite people.
-
Sapolsky says that stress affects the size of TIMO, whichs make kids could die, because if TIMO is too big, can produce asphixia on kids
-
He talks about a size difference on some "glandulas" between childs with this disease and childs without it (i believe i´ve heard that this "glandula" is called TIMO)
Then appers a sign on 11: 35 which says:
"we can´t choose how or when are we gonna die, instead we can choose how to live".
Later appears a question " what is a cradel death?" and people answer why they believe babies die on cradle.
.
Four months later...I beg of you...please let English speakers hear this without the Spanish overdub. Should be easy enough to just delete the voiceover track, right? Many non-Spanish speakers would like to hear this lecture... please consider uploading a version where we can hear what Sapolsky himself is saying...please?

La calidad de este material exige una mayor atención en la traducciónl. Esta clase de información debe trascender sin ninguna clase de desviación del idioma. Quizas subtitulos y el audio original. Me mantengo igualmente agradecido con su labor. Magnifica.
