MR2 Turbo 1/4 miles

Running my MR2 Turbo up the strip for the first time at Santa Pod. The car's spec is at the end of the video. (And yes, I know most of my launches suck!)

Yeah... my first launch (not videoed) was all wheel spin from 5000rpm-ish, so I gave up on that! I'll figure it out better next time I go to the Pod :)

you have a 3rd Gen engine right?

with those specs, you should be able to crack high 12's with some good driving. next time, race fuel and more boost.

Thanks buddy - yes, it's a gen3 3s-gte.

My issue is grip... the Toyos have done about 8000miles and are past their best for grip. Plus I could only nudge the pressures down to about 25psi, as I still had to drive home! :(

Was happy with that as my attempt though :)

i got a 13.8 wi ma mr turbo n thats jus got an exhaust n filter,that wiz with 18s tae

Yeah, int he end it's all about having fun. Just don't be afraid to rev it past 4500 rpm's and launch, anything less than that and you'll most likely bog down like your doing now.

once you're comfortable behind the wheel at the strip you'll get the hang of it. I have a '97 sw20 turbo myself.
