The Makino a81M Horizontal Machining Center is designed for machining tough and hard materials, such as stainless steel, ductile iron, cast iron, CGI and Titanium alloys. Its integral drive, high torque spindle (740 lb. ft.) provides many advantages over the traditional gear-head design. By eliminating gears and shafts within the spindle, the a81M achieves greater efficiency in acceleration and deceleration, and increased tooling flexibility due to its 8,000rpm capability.

In this video, the a81M demonstrates it's rigid, high-torque machining capabilities in a Titanium block test cut.
