How do you feel about the city's ban on outdoor smoking?

Each week the Voice heads downtown to ask passersby a question about a current event. Watch the video to hear locals opinions' about the city of Mountain View banning outdoor smoking within 25 feet of publically accessible buildings.

  • Okay, so they're going to ban smoking...outdoors? That's fucking stupid. -.-

If you're outside and there is a person smoking near you, you can either stand away from where the smoke is blowing or go inside. People have the right to smoke outside. Would you rather them smoke inside and stink up the building? Jesus, people are fucking stupid.

  • Too many fat people these days......

    BAN TWINKIES NOW!!!

  • @flymang I completely agree!

  • @winter07926 Problem with your logic. You say "more rights than meth heads." the thing is everyone has rights whether you are a drug addict, smoker, mu slum, or jew. The only time their rights are taken away is when what they are doing infringes on other peoples' rights. Allowing private businesses to decide whether to allow smoking or not should be up to the business, and people should be allowed to decide if they would like to smoke or not. • what an idiot -- obviously already is synapticly-challenged!

    Proof:

    1) smokes

    2) doesn't care about how his smoke effects others

    3) smoker's don't have anymore rights than meth-heads

  • Don't live anywhere near this city but, IMO the smoking bans have gone way too far and are greatly infringing upon smoker's rights. This is just another example of the invasivness of government and loss of individual freedoms.
