Believe it or not, but back in the 1980's there was actually a pretty vibrant music scene in San Jose, California. One of the more interesting bands was BIG HAIR, a cowpunk band that split off into some splinter groups, including FRONTIER WIVES, WHISTLING BULLETS and THE KETTLES.
On this particular video, the lovely Margot Lipp handles the vocals. She does a great rendition of "Fever" a 1956 song performed by a lot of musicians- Peggy Lee, Elvis Presley, Little Willie John, and many others.
This performance is from a special event produced by KFJC Radio and I.B.S. at the Works Gallery in San Jose on November 22, 1985. The video camera used was an old tube camera that really hated low-light situations, so there was a fair amount of tweaking to make this video presentable.
Margot is now Margo Potter- writer, TV host, designer, blogger and teacher. You can read more about her by going to her website at:

San Jose was starting to take off, 5 or 6 real good clubs and a bunch of bands, bout the only bands I remember were Whistling bullets. Camper Van Beethoven was there too. It died almost over night it seems like though.
