In the early '70s, my father brought home an album of King's College 9 Lessons and Carols. He played it, starting out with this beautiful hymn. I was drawn downstairs when I heard it and sat in silence and amazement while we listened together. He so wanted to travel to Cambridge to actually be at this service and was disappointed to find out that "outsiders" were not allowed to be there. I listen to this often and always think of him. Hauntingly beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful, what else can one say! Wising everybody an amazing Christmas and the strength to be happy in the chaotic world that is ever present!
@Quercusist Why watch a sunrise?

Unusual to see no Vergers leading the choir back to the choir stalls. The Choir is sublime

@Quercusist
The music of Kings College is for all seasons. Why? They are so beautiful it is irresistable. More fulfilling than some of the modern music.
