Alan Munde, playing the 5-string banjo, performs "The Ballad of Jed Clampett" from the Beverly Hillbillies for students from Greystone Elementary School (Hoover City Schools) in Birmingham, AL. He visited the school with assistance of grants from ING and the Alabama Support the Arts License Tag.
Earl didn't invent picking with three fingers, but he did invent syncopated 3 finger picking and most of all the licks and style used in bluegrass. Let's say he created bluegrass banjo as we have it today.

The great Alan Munde ! Great Picker ! One or more of them youngens will have that light bulb turned on there today , go home and ask Ma and Dad for a banjo and their future will be great , higher self esteem , stay off drugs , and become a better person. All because Alan Munde took the time to go there and help. It is incredible really what can happen from a little thing.
Thanks Alan Munde
