That material seems very forgiving...is it normally that good to work with ?

Yes, I'm a big fan of HEAT Treated cherts from TN, such as Buffalo River...

I get mine at the OLD Stone Fort knap-ins,
Manchester TN.
One in early May, the other usually in September or late August.

Thanks! The rock is Tennessee Buffalo River chert, which has been heat treated.
