This is a motorized yoyo that I made to help make a school project a little more interesting. It was mainly built as a proof of concept and trying to do tricks can slide the string off of the axle, so this video just shows it sleeping for about 8 minute and how it works.

  • now you can buy a motorized yoyo called the Spin Infinity, sleeps forever, regular modern butterfly yoyo.

  • @Graiskye Thanks for posting about it. I just searched and found one called "Hyper Infinity". Found some dissected pictures, looks very similar to this design, or at least how I would have adjusted things if I was going to refine it. Mine doesn't detect spin direction and theirs does. The mechanism is very similar to what I was thinking. Props to them for making an actual product out of it, now people can stop asking me to do it.

  • Can you message me or post in the description where to find the necessary parts to do this? I'm really interested, but mainly I wouldn't know where to get one of those motors. (don't own any RC helicopters.)

  • @AlisRIOSteff I believe there are sites that sell motors by themselves for use in RC helicopters, but it would probably be cheaper just to find a cheap helicopter to tear apart. I've seen them go for as little as $10 on clearance. I don't really have any specs on what might be required; I just threw it together with whatever I could find.

  • but can u do tricks with it??????????

  • Not this one, but with improved construction I don't see any reason why tricks wouldn't be possible.
