"Halt mich" - Herbstrock [Lyrics w/ English Translation]

This is one of my favorite songs. Turn the annotations On/Off for the translation. I translated the lyrics myself, and this is my first lyric video (or video ever, really).

I believe that this song, especially its translation, need to be taken very metaphorically and poetically. If you take it literally, it won't make much sense. I wish I could describe how much more meaningful songs are in their native language.

If someone out there speaks both German and English, would you kindly be able to explain the lines "Im Maßstab 1:8/Hing Kilometer weiter Einsicht nach"? I believe that's the only part of the song that I don't quite understand...
