I wrote this in a period of stress and I desperately was thinking about ways to get better. I was just thinking about our bodies and the purpose of our lives. I remember an older sister once said our bodies are the temple of the Holy spirit and it got me thinking. If our bodies are a temple, then it must be a pretty broken temple. Through our brokeness that's where we find God. The line, We are a rending temple, awaiting your return. Our broken temples are awaiting the return of the body and blood of Jesus and that takes form as the Eucharist. This song is my devotion to our veils being torn. Rend has been one of my favorite words because it means to tear apart violently. In all honesty, we should be asking our God to rend our lives because fixing doesn't seem to be the appropriate term. We should allow him to completely destroy that which hinders us from the father. This is also my take on writing a worship song that people may be able to sing to
Enjoy!
God Bless!
