Wow.... Epic fail... lol.

Dick Cavett's one of the most educated & well dictioned TV personalities ever but a horrible Pyramid player.

Cumulatively speaking, that was the hardest board I have EVER seen. I don't know why he was buzzed on the clue "a thorn-caught blouse"--seems like a brilliant clue to me.

Ha! Ha!

What comes to my mind for Things That Have a Plug was "A Wall Socket."
-
@Singingboy1978 That can't be it, because he wasn't supposed to list the plugs themselves, but what has them. I think it was a questionable buzz.
-
These subjects were not all that easy.
-
@landrykkb Not true, Ive seen him phenomenal at this.
-
@nextbarker I think that a bottle top isn't a plug. That's probably why he got buzzed.
-
Bottle tops aren't things that have a plug; they're used to open and close soda/water bottles.
-
@shawnkquinn "your crapping dog"
-
I think he said "your &$*#ing up" or something along those lines.
what was wrong with BOTTLE TOP?

I'm assuming they were thinking "bottle top," not just as the screw kind, but also as in a champagne or wine bottle cork, which they probably considered as a form of an actual plug and not something that HAS a plug. If he had just said "a bottle," he would have been fine.

I don't see why he was buzzed on "Things with a Plug" though.
He said "Roller" for that first one, and then the 3rd one, he said "Thorn-caught blouse" (so snag and catch are synonyms).

Yes, exactly. I looked up the word "snag" in the thesaurus; "catch" (form of " the word caught"), was the first word listed.
