@Cshopper15 If ramping up for war is not the ultimate socialist program, I don't know what is. Have a nice day, C. If it involved deficit spending to build or buy something, and it put people to work, it was a New Deal-WWII program, especially before 1941 (Lend Lease, for example). I wonder how many Palin historical revisionists know what Lend Lease was?

@bobjfs a) That's not Rosie the Riveter. That is "We Can Do It" by J. Howard Miller. It's a common mistake so don't be too hard on yourself. Norman Rockwell painted Rosie the Riveter for the Saturday Evening Post. b) How exactly is Rosie the Riveter or "We Can Do It" a socialist symbol. They were both patriotic symbols used to encourage women to join the work force and do "a mans job" during WWII. Neither one was associated with FDR's New Deal.
