Holy Cow. What an honor it would have been to be taught to fly by one of those guy's !I had the honor of meeting Tex Hill at an air show he was/is a Flying Tiger, (not sure if he is still living?)
I used to go to that part of KS quite often (Bob Wilson hospital) Garden city etc,
I bet you have been to the Liberal air museum :)
I love that western part of KS the people there are very down to earth, I once pulled over to check my map and three vehicles stopped and asked if I needed help !
Thanks

@EarlRausch : yes, they are very down to earth, being with them renews faith that the country won't fail. Tex Hill was probably the most famous Flying Tiger of them all, outside of Chennault himself, you were lucky to have met him. The second flying movie I did (Kingdom of Ais at the link in the description) gives a rolling credit at the end to all the WWII guys that instructed and what they piloted, etc.

Are you retired Marine or Navel aviator? Great video.

@liveinthebozone : No, I was trained by some of the great WWII pilots active in the Pacific (John Boggs, helped perfect the "skip bomb" technique with B-25's at Raubul, Johnny Neile P-40 instructor and former Flying Tiger, and many more. On their last hurrah as active pilots, they taught a flight school of low level ops that I became involved in, to the point of passing on their techniques to A-10 instructors at Dothan AFB in the early 80's. Hopefully it helped save some lives.
