From 1951-58 I attended a grammar school which was across the street from a small alley garage wherein Tiger Tom & crew worked on his car. He had a deal with the nuns to only fire-it-up during recesses and lunch breaks. Was a great friend of theirs and us kids. On a number of occasions we'd take class trips, to watch him race, at Soldier Field (Chicago).
