whoa parking spaces in Belgium are weird, in America its just 2 lines like | | or sometimes slanted like / / or \ \

Nah, it's the same here. But those are some spaces you can rent, some garages mostly but there was some empty space and the old lady who owns it thought it'd be smart to rent it as parking space as well. My mom works nearby and it's cheaper than trying to find parking spaces in the city.
