Maybe they could let them buy guns with the happiness allowance, so that they could keep themselves active by shooting the deer :-) In the meantime, it would not be a bad idea for Maartern van Poelgeest to arrange for the deer to be provided with some fodder, so that they do not have to chew up the neighbourhood, to get through this winter.
