  • check out the video here at youtube soldering with a lighter,it works!

  • This is totally the wrong tool for the job, desoldering guns like this are far too powerful for typical electronics soldering.

  • @attackeagle why is this a bad joint?

  • @KX36 buy some glasses that is a normal soldering gun with a smaller tip

  • @2Luke try heating the component and applying the solder to the component, not melting the solder on the iron and trying to make it adhere to a cold component.

  • @rish000 it is possible, there's a vid of it on youtube, but you're highly likely to mess it up; just buy a $10 soldering iron.

  • @FireHax0rd Soldering aluminium requires a special type of solder, but your wire's very unlikely to be aluminium, more likely just pre-tinned copper or solid core (as opposed to stranded core which looks like string) copper.

  • @FireHax0rd No, use 60/40 rosin core solder. Eliminates the need for flux and almost all electronics require rosin.

    60% tin / 40% lead.

  • @aburrito144 noahweinstein :) cheers mate
