Use my online calculator to work out the load on your sail sheet.
Centre of effort, cut paper the size of the sail, Hang by corner with pin. Draw vertical line through pin. Repeat for all corners, centre of small triangle (cocked hat) is CofE.
Measure distance CofE to mast or stay, distance sheet point to mast or stay, distance deck sheeting position to mast or stay (all at right angles)
Area of traingle base x 1/2 vertical height.
Measue height of CofE to waterline
