Pendulum - "The Island - Pt. 1" Orchestral Remix

My effort at the Pendulum remix competition. Some of the other orchestral remixes I've heard put this to shame quite easily, and everyone else did a fantastic job!

This was my first remix. I was originally going to do a rock remix, but with 2 days to go I decided to bring in the virtual symphony! This didn't give me a lot of time but I gave it a decent shot. All orchestral instruments were recorded on my digital piano via a MIDI cable into Logic Pro 9.

Others put this to shame? No way this is one of the best. Its awesome man! Its got a great simplicity. How do you make remixes? What software do you use I wouldn't mind trying.

@metalxguitar Thanks! To make a remix you really need the individual tracks which the original artist recorded. In this case, Pendulum gave us all a download link which allowed us to import the main synth track on its own, the vocals on their own etc. Then you can arrange the tracks in any way you wish, change the key, change the tempo or record some of your own instruments over the top to give the song a new feel! I used Logic Pro, if you have a Mac then Garageband is a great free alternative.

@metalxguitar If you mean any programs to mix music then you can't get any of them online. They are called Digital Audio Workstations (DAW for short) and they need to be installed as software on your computer. There are some free ones for PC and like I said Garageband for Mac.
