You are all wrong, the reason the war started was because the southern states did not like being told what to do by the northern states so they seceded from the union. Slavery was just another something that the confederacy used to do their work and considering they didn't want to be told what to do by the union, slavery was one of the things they were told not to use, and this video wasn't accurate, the confederates never stopped to shoot back at the union because it would have been suicide...

@xxMrFablexx thank god....someone has a brain....also dont forget the southern states were concerned about the balance of power within the house and senate, and thought that Lincoln's election along with the admission of CA, threated the balance, they were so desperate that they even looked to toward Cuba as becoming a state, or some central american country...

@EDoggProductionz Ah, no. The Confeds rebelled because Lincoln won the election and they thought he was going to try to free the slaves, which was incorrect. All Lincoln wanted to do was stop the spread of slavery, he was hoping that containing it in the south would eventually cause it to die off peacefully. And Slavery was the MAIN issue the Rebels had. Stop trying to side step it by saying it was "just another issue."

Also it was suicide to charge into them as well, yet they still did it.

@mangobango33 Do you really think 90% of union soldiers gave a rats ass about freeing slaves .. Who the hell would. Emancipation proclamation was more for political reasons then anything else. And it said the south had jan 1st for the south to return to the union , if they had, slavery would be left in place. It also served to keep Britain out of the war. Who in their right mind would want to free a lot of crime committing fuck ups . If you want to blame anyone for leaving slavery in place,
