  • Scariest and most charismatic Israel Hands ever.... But then, everything about this version is the best ever! Finally, a Jim who looks capable enough to do what he has to do, who can be scared AND heroic. And there's nothing for suspense like a pistol that has to be loaded for each shot, not knowing it the powder will be too dry or the pistol misfire. I'll take that any day over enormous explosions, slo-mo choreography, and "can't miss" automatics.

  • 'Oh Jim, you didn't keep your powder dry, ey?'

  • The tragedy of Israel Hands Is really anonymous.JUST KILL BY LAD JIM YO HO HO !!!!!!!

  • @Narcist87

This version more detailed and bloody.

Our (Russian) version more romantic. A soundtrack and songs in the Russian version (1971)..... Much more surpasses the English version.

    The reference in YouTube = "Баллада-Остров сокровищ(1971)"

  • cool

  • @peggygeordie Agreed, none of that is needed and obviously takes away from a film. This is such a tense, well done scene. From 3:30 - on is one of the best bits in my memory, and I have seen a LOT of the best films..

  • @dezboss

I have never read the book in English, so I didn't know that, but seeing that line now it seems a little bit "too much", especially given the context. But as we say in Norwegian: "Smaken er som baken" (Meaning that your opinion on something is like your bottom. Different from person to person and constantly changing :) )

  • @hatepbj94 Aye, that it is! As fer love, well, just ask any sailor of the age. Falling in love is what makes an old salt a true salt.

  • @riptobias It's a shame that they missed out his next line, in the book it was 'One more step Mr Hands, and I'll blow your brains out. Dead men don't bite you know!'

  • love the music in this movie, wish they could make more movies like this

  • "One more step, Mr. Hands,... and I'll blow your brains out!"

  • The Hispanola is soo beautiful.

"sigh" Is it possible to fall in love with a ship?
