  • The slots in the legs are made by gluing and nailing different length timber to the center one. It gives the impression that the legs are one piece of timber on the vid, but got to 1.48min on the time line and you will see the clamps and nails. I hope that helps. If anyone would like close ups of the bench please just say

  • I used Google SketchUp - A great bit of software and its free.

  • Hi folks, I have been meaning to respond to your comments for a while now, actually 6 months. Firstly, thanks for all the positive feedback, I never thought that this vid would receive so many views in a year. After building the work bench it sat idle for a while, we had baby/toddler at that time so not much time and like any clear space in a house it is somewhere to put stuff which frequently happened and still does...cont.

  • …But all was not lost, about a year ago I built my son an activity table using the bench which turned out very good and is used every day (Vid on this activity table will be post soon) I haven’t used my drop saw on this work bench as it is a bit too high and the saw dust would go everywhere… it did with the router. Yes, yes that’s what a garage is for I hear you say… cont.

  • …I haven’t put the wheels on it as the need for this feature hasn’t arisen yet. The cost workings are not on hand, so a very approx. A$150.

    Thanks again

  • Great stuff. It turned out well. I'm using sketchup too and it's so good to be able to make the mistakes in that program before you cut any wood. Especially when on a tight budget. Thanks for posting.

  • I love it.

  • how do you cut the slots in the wood legs

  • HOMEMADE

  • Nicely done! Re seeing exactly where circular saw blade will cut, check out MAKING STRAIGHT CUTS WITH A HOMADE JIG on you tube.
