I have on old VHS tape of this,God when I was 5 that thing was playing everyday.It was my first anime you could say,followed by Speed Racer.I still watch the tape from time to time.

This is actually very progressive for the 70's. They kept the name of the show intact, and even left the opening instrumental music in. Rather impressive.

True, just as they left in names Pegas, Andro and Mutan intact as well, I just felt that was rather arbitrary to change the following:

Blue Earth to Tekka-shuttle

Tek-Set to Interlock

Tek-Lancer to Space lance

Wladastars to Waldarians

Rambos to Randrox

Dobrai to Deverall

I know, I don't mean to generalize but most of the anime fans I've seen who always shit on old classics are mostly US anime fans. They always complain of how old animes have limited and less "pretty" animation....etc Well, I'd rather watch those classics than say Evangelion or Naruto.

@Elementa2006 Next time you meet some one who disgraces the classics, you should remind them that its things like this and gatchaman that spawned anime as it is today. Western shows such as power rangers spawned from gatchaman along with the mecha genre, be it their opinion on it being bad, they should show respect.

I actually like this version. The music just seems like the quintessential sound of the time. Really reminds me of those Hannah-Barbara cartoon's themes.

Waldarians doesn't sound so bad to me. Reminds me of how the Seiya-jin from DBZ were called Saiyans in the dub. It's a slight alteration that still works pretty well.
