I thought facilitated transport was an example of active transport...I'm pretty sure glucose needs energy to pass through the membrane.

@TinHinge I'm fairly sure the channel proteins used for facilitated diffusion have a fixed shape. Like the carrier proteins used for glucose, they maintain the same shape and therefore cannot transport another substance. Hoewer when given energy, they are able to change shape specific to a different substance
