From episode 38 of "The Letter People" - How Mr. G Got a New Sound

Mr. J finds a rare gem from an art museum and displays it in his junkyard. Later, he finds out from his radio (which is quite hilarious, I might add) that it's the dangerous Genius Gem, which makes someone disappear if their sound doesn't go with their name. However, he finds this out AFTER Mr. G visits him, touches the Gem, and disappears! In order to bring Mr. G back, Mr. J decides to let him borrow his Jumbled Junk sound before silent E. This process allows Mr. G to come back and when he touches the Gem again, he doesn't disappear.

  • who did the voice of mr j?

  • I suppose only an "insider" would know this. The only people ever credited in the credits were the creators, the director, and the lead puppeteer/set designer King Hall.

  • ...And if you listen carefully, when Miss E shows up, they play the instrumental to Mr. R's song in the background.

  • Instrumentals of various songs used throughout the series is playing in the background this entire episode.

  • X likes to borrow Z's sound too.

  • They should have saved "gym" for this episode, too...and explained that when Mr. Y is working as a vowel, the same rule applies.

  • @culpit And in my eyes, Mr C also is borrowing Mr K's sound. (just think about it)

  • @culpit Anyway it is a good thing the vowels got their long sounds or else they would have disappeared. I do not think Y would be safe either.

  • @ilovemayo123 i agree. little kids mind cant comprehend to this.

  • Mr. W isn't safe from the Genius Gem for his wonderful wink sound isn't in his name. Plus it's a good thing Mr. C is borrowing Mr. S's sound now, for he too would've been a victim of the gem without that S sound.

  • how'stricks ole buddey

  • this is actally confusing

  • I do recognize the songs. 1.¨Mr. J Song. 2¨.¨Mrs. U Song¨3.¨Mr. W Song¨ 4. ¨Mr. R Song¨ 5. ¨The Long Sound Song¨, and 6. ¨The Squoosh Song
