Lawrence Wolfe plays the Luis and Clark Carbon-Fiber Double Bass in Concert with Pianist Carmen Rodrigues-Peralta. 7/30/2007. Serge Koussevitsky: Two Pieces for Double Bass and Piano.
@nationalparksign I hear where your coming from but you have to look at it from the side of sales, they sell alot of these things and alot of people use them and that has to say something in it's self about how people feel about their sound quality, i mean would a person that plays a violin, viola or cello that take what they do seriously buy this product just because it looks cool and pay $6,000 to $12,000 just to look at carbon fiber?
This may sound tacky and not in the world of fine wooden instruments but since this is a carbon fiber product and is naturally has less resonance because epoxy is stiff to frank, wouldn't a trick from building a subwoofer box work like using a poly blanket inside the cello lining the inner walls to slow the wave down and softening the sound up?
A carbon fiber instrument its surely lighter then a wooden one, but what's the exact weight of a bass like this?

I found this bass to sound weak and hollow in real life.

@Serenelune You shouldn't feel bad for spending $2000... that Bass right now costs $12,959

As a bass player I was interested to hear a few low notes. He plays cello in this clip.

Holy crap. I kinda regret spending $2000 on a violin for Gliga. It's beautiful but it doesn't sound like THAT. Wow.

I am truly impressed with the sound of that bass! I thought it would sound kind of like a fiberglass made bass.

Fantastic tone! I want a carbon fiber bass so bad. It'll have to wait till after I get out of college and get some dough put away.
