in some bizarroverse, this movie is a well-paced, deep film about the futility of war and the fleeting innocence of life. on the other hand, in said universe peter jackson's LOTR is a campy summer blockbuster and Chris Nolan made Batman and Robin

@laserman This movie is what "Beast of Yucca Flats" would have been if the vocal track had not been damaged. that said, you are right, it does need a narrator; maybe the helicopter cop, or the dorky reporter at the beginning, because they used up all the John Carradine money.

This movie needed some of that pretentious Beast of Yucca Flats style random ass narration. Can you imagine how funny it would be to hear Francis waxing poetic as the eight man invasion force attacks Cuba?
