Kitson steam tram running on the Ferrymead Tramway

The steam tram was built in Leeds, England in 1881. It was never scrapped.
It is shown here hauling two trailers of c1895 vintage and is passing Stephenson tram No 1 of the Christchurch Tramway Board.

They should put this back on its original route into Sumner, as a tourist attraction!!!

Probably one of the world's most comprehensive transport museums. Electric, steam and horse trams, trolley and diesel buses, steam, diesel and electric trains– all operating – cable cars (not actually operating, but potentially so) and a lot else. Plus it is one of the few attractions around Christchurch which is back in service already after the earthquake.
