Every 15 Minutes is a program designed to raise awareness of the pain and sickening loss of life due to drunk driving. To help raise awareness, some high schools across America arrange with a small group of seniors to pull them out of class, reading an obituary, and "kill them:" putting them in a black robe and white makeup and sent back to class not to interact with anyone, giving the impression that they are "dead."
Then after school they go to a hotel for the night to give the impression to the parents that their child isn't coming home because he/she was "killed" and to simulate the kind of pain that stems from that missing spot in the household.
The next day, the students do a skit with the rest of the school, depicting this teenager who decides to drink too much and drive on the way home.
I myself was part of this wonderful program if any of your schools does this, I highly recommend talking to the staff about it if you are a senior. It was the most unforgettable two days in my high school life. You really bond and get to know that small group of students in a surprising one night.
Anyway, this is the slide show from my school's 2010 Every Fifteen Minutes. I did not make this, nor do I own the pictures and music. Credit goes to the proper song artists and the staff who so diligently put this amazing piece together.
OSCAR! (:
