Would you like to be lied to all the time? Do you like to be cheated on? Do you like your child to honor you? Would you be offended if someone was murdered? God gave us these standard because He loves us and wants the best for us. BTW you are off by about 4000 yrs on how long we've had the moral law.

Besides, under the constitution: "Freedom and justice FOR ALL" negates any excuses these people may have to justify their intolerance. "FOR ALL" includes gay people, whether THEY like it or not.

@Gatdog67 If the only morals that you understand are those which the bible tells you result in a punishment by your god, how do you know whether or not to electrocute people? How do you know whether or not to rape? How do you know whether or not to arrange a marriage between a child and an adult? And don't say "common sense," because for the rest of us, common sense makes it obvious that we should not murder, cheat or lie.

@Gatdog67 Morality is an evolved intellectual concept, not a "gift" from a supposed deity. Religion is a tool to reinforce certain moral and ethical standards, that doesn't make it the origins of morality, and by no means is it the best way to teach morality! You don't need gods or bibles for there to be a difference between right and wrong.
