Because, generally, spitting them out to do the 10 damage is better than getting a crappy b move.

Why would kirby swallow ganon anyway? His copied warlock punch has much less range than the real thing >_>

Mainly cause it leaves you open for a short time after you use it, so if you miss with it you are bound to eat a smash.
