Welcome to another hard drive upgrade! This video is slightly different to your average hard drive installation, because I'm using a drive which I've previously used in this very machine. It's the original boot drive that came with my Mac Pro. Prices of hard drives are too 'through the roof' at this moment in time for me to plunge cash into another 2TB Caviar Black.

Thanks for watching! I hope you all enjoy...

  • hey tom, i just bought a new camcorder =] it records in AVCHD and I'm not sure what to use to convert it what software would you recommend?

  • @techheadkd You don't need to record it :) If you have an Intel Mac then it works directly...

  • I never keep backups.

  • @undercoverpolska Brave! ;)

  • @ItsMyNaturalColour Stupid. One of the best backup solutions comes with OSX since Leopard and he isn't taking advantage?

  • @Whizard72 If your referring to Time Machine, then I do use it. :) Just haven't got enough external space.. I use Time Machine for my boot drive, and CCC for the video editing stuff (because I don't need that backed up quite as frequently)

  • Hi Tom! Are you a youtube partner??

  • They are getting more expensive because there is a massive shortage of hdd's!

  • You look scary.

  • @GeneralNerevarine

Yes I will PM the first link that comes up on Google search. As for the GTX series. There was not a GTX 300 series. And the GTX 500 series is only a voltage & heat upgrade from the 400 series. Not an official new series.

  • @Paratrooper1n0 Okay man I think I found what you are referring to. On Nvidia's website it says that they are releasing a series of the GTX 600s for mobile computers which will be called the "GTX 600m" series, which is what they did with the GTX 500 series as well, if I am not mistaken.

  • @Paratrooper1n0 Now I am curious. Could you by any chance PM me the links to where you read about it? I just want to be cautious because I don't want to order a 600 series card and end up with a mobile one; that would be miserable for me.

  • @GeneralNerevarine

Weird, since I did a search and didn't see any rumor sites. I got my info from google and OCN.

  • @Paratrooper1n0 And a google search for GTX 700 series came up with a whole lot of "I wonder if Nvidia will release GTX 700 or make a new card...."
