This is a 1970's Jet boat, designed for one thing: going fast on water, and maybe pulling a waterskier...

We had to change the points and tweak the carb, and this is the first big start up in at least 3 years.

Now all we have to do is make sure we have enough crash gear ready to take it on the water...

  • Your gonna get 75mph , down river with the wind in your ass ... assuming the set up is right. I had a fat pig of a boat with 425 hp on a good day and got it to 74 mph through the chop during a circle boat race in bakersfield's lake Ming.

  • @beerjet - Yeah, there are some laws of physics in play there. Drag, in water increases to the cube of speed. That means if you want to go faster than 75 mph (OMFG!) then you will need to have almost zero boat in the water, about 500 more horse power and a few air foils to keep her from launching. Come on buddy, you can't be that stupid to want that!

And if you read the comments, I haven't owned thing for a while.

  • Hello, Is this boat still for sale?

  • Not by me... but you could ask MsJbo (you-tuber listed in these comments)...

  • throw an 850 mech secondary carb on it... with out knowing what 427 heads and cam are in it, its hard to say how much you are leaving on the table. 70 mph is moving, dont get me wrong but just about any decent jetboat with a decent bottom and a 454 with decent tune will do that. marine motors in general are designed to run at high rpm's so air flowing through the motor efficiently is your best bet.

  • Hu Hu Hu, those guys are old.

  • Wheres the rod holders?

  • i got the boat in Aug, Did a fair amount of work to it. new battery, distributor, alternator, fuel pump, impeller, wear ring, bushings, air cleaner cover.(didn't come with one) Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge. 80psi no problem. haven't gps'd it yet, I'm hoping for 60+ mph. It is again for sale but i want 5g's I have put alot of time and money into it. currently its in a barn for winter storage. have the seats pulled and the motor pulled. big plans for the boat if it doesn't sell.

  • that exact boat. in the wack aug long weekend. MsJbo is my girl friends account.

  • Do you mean THAT exact boat, or one just like it?
