I dont know why people gave you a thumbs down for saying that, its good advice. I use compression while playing lead specifically to aid legato.

@GuillermoSmyser well, a good thing to do would be make the title of this vid, your best "hammer and pull" technique, as that is technically what you are doing here. Im not cutting on your style at all, as it is really close to the same style as mine when it comes to using this particular technique. I find true legato extremely hard, especially getting my index finger to work right on it. People like Brett Garsed,Holdsworth,Marshall Harrison, just blow me away with some of the stuff they play :)

@mphillips0052 I imagine you know that legato is an adjective and not an actual technique. It has come have at least 2 styles (as I imagine you also know): Holdsworthian style and Satriani style. I imagine I'm not thinking of at least another.

But what I'm trying to say is: lighten up. There are more than one styles of real "legato technique"

don´t care about those kids...all of them love Satriani, Kotzen, Holdsworth, Van Halen...legato players...the problem is that you are not in the "star bussines"...at last, "guitar music business" is the same shit that pop music.. even those kids don´t know to read...this video name is "extreme legato"...no more...if someone is looking for picking, this is not for him...keep rockin´man, respect, make whatever you want, and fuck them all!
