Excalibur Field Test

Raytheon's Excalibur is a 155mm precision-guided artillery round with extended range. Successfully fielded in 2007, Excalibur is the next generation family of projectiles for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps artillery. Raytheon is the first company to accomplish the tremendously difficult task of integrating sensitive GPS precision guidance technology onto an artillery round. This capability provides soldiers with an accurate, first round fire-for-effect capability in an urban setting. Excalibur's proven six-meter (19.7 feet) accuracy reduces collateral damage, which saves warfighter lives and reduces the chance of civilian casualties.
