My eclectus tear up most of their food. I think it's some kind of instinct. They only eat most of their very favorite things. They eat grapes for the seeds. I think grape seeds are good for them but you're right there is something in some other seeds that isn't good.

You can find the playlist "Birds being super cute" containing this and other fantastic bird videos by clicking my name and then playlists. kyleowensimon, I guess fruit plates are no decoration to be found in your home, at least not for long ;-). Bender is really cute! And I like his colour.

As you can´t find Playlists related to this video any more I took YT help center´s advice to enter the search terms, in my case "birds", in the Search box. On the search results page, I clicked the "Playlists" link at the bottom of the page and found tons of Playlists named birds and containing just one or two videos.

You are right. He is tearing it up to get to the seeds. My Eccie does the same thing. They will eat some of the apple, but it is the seeds they like. The seeds also are not good for them so you can not give them a lot. Seeds from a whole apple can be bad for any bird due to the toxin in the seeds.

Here's what I came up with...all those tearing...got to have uhmm...5% in his stomach LOL My CAG loves to tear up whole corn too, but only a few times that I saw him ate a few pieces of the corn.
