@SloneJim -- True! Many people talked about civil rights and racial equality but Roy and Dale practiced it by adopting children of various races and loving them all equally.

I may be young and didn't grow up going to the "Double Feature Saturdays" but he has always been my hero. He was a Christian that lived what he taught. His shows weren't just about being entertained but teaching morals and character. I hope that one day I will be able to meet him in Heaven. Happy Trails!!

The world was a better place when little boys were allowed to play with toy guns and dreamt of growing up to be like Roy Rogers with a wife like Dale Evans.

@WytZox1 I agree, there is nothing like running around outside playing with toy guns and yelling your head off!!!

I admired the man greatly..not only loved his movies..but admired his character. He was certainly one of the best people who rode the range, the screen and everywhere he went. We will not see the likes of him again for sometime...but there will always be some good guys and men to admire and emulate.

@SloneJim He was a great man and a true hero, sadly children of today have no idea who he was and they consider Lady Gaga and Katy Perry heroes but Roy, Gene and Hoppy will always be my heroes.
