Donald Sutherland - Today many may know him as Kiefer Sutherland's dad, or the rich voice behind the 2010 CTV Olympic vignettes, but Donald Sutherland is a Golden Globe, Emmy and Genie Award winner with a career spanning close to 50 years.

Donald Sutherland starred with Julie Christie in Don't Look Now, and as "Hawkeye Pierce" in the feature MASH. He's lent his voice to The Simpsons and starred in the recent series Dirty Sexy Money.

In part two of this 1981 CityLights interview Donald Sutherland talks to Brian Linehan about being Canadian, his clumsiness, his job as an actor and the directors role; working with Robert Redford on Ordinary People.

I'm glad he doesn't share Dustin Hoffman's attitude. Dustin took himself so seriously in those days. Waging a silent war with directors? Give me a break. Sutherland has the right idea, you are to give the director what he needs.
