@slickster1993 I've got a feeling the reason the end of the Rebuild series is going be different is that this is sort of a sequel to the previous movies. Shinji was the new Adam and Asuka was the new Eve, so Shinji got to have some fun repopulating the human race. Things will be inevitiably different now because everyone is descendant from Shinji and Asuka, and not the original Adam and Rei. This changes instrumentality quite a bit.
