  • PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING

thought I would set you all straight.

I am a very experienced rider and ridden many horse in the last 35 years and at the top level.

This horse is the most complicated I have ever ridden.

If I had let him go he would have gone and as I had others to think about I didn't.

As for lunging or warming him up, I had been on him for over an hours, he did this as soon as he hit the ring.

Thank you for comments but if I wanted a lesson I would have paid for one.

  • SOme news on Roo now

He is now on long teerm box rest due to nerve damage after a paddock accident and with all possiblility I will never ride him again.

Some of these comments are rather hurtful at the moment for me, I bred this horse and to see him in this state is very upsetting, so please be a little thoughtful.

  • I put this up because it was funny. I am sorry if I have upset people by doing so. Those that know this horse thought so too. This video was taken 18 months ago and although he does revert sometimes is much improved. These thing happen when you are dealing with animals.

Please watch and have a laugh as I did, sometimes you have to laugh or you will cry.

  • It helps to warm up too. My horse does this if he isnt warmed up before. Its really frustrating sometimes.

  • Who says I didn't warm up? He was well and truly warmed up.

  • that wasnt in the test was it

  • He was doing a work out in front of judge and spectators.

  • why is it that every single horse video, other horse people all of a sudden become self proclaimed experts?!?! No body is a perfect rider... NOBODY! we all have up and down days!! Some times its nice to see videos like this as it reminds you that you are not the only one going through ups and downs when riding. Just laugh or walk away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Weeeeee he was like "MUM we are in an open field and you want to SCHOOL?!?! Lets go really really fast instead...maybe we'll even fly!" Well ridden,he looks like his shoes were made of springs :D

  • i love ponies :)

  • FINALLY.

Someone who understand how to handle a horse with springs attached to his hooves xD

That was brilliantely ridden, even though he was bouncy, he was nicely collected and his strides were powerful, that was a pleasure to watch and it brought a smile to my face, Roo reminds me of my aunts horse, and Andalusian cross named Gee, who refuses to walk anywhere, he has to jog, with style xD

    This was awesome

    Thanks for sharing <3

  • Your horse is Beuatifull, Im going to come steel him :D Jokes xxxx

  • I have had horses that behave no have the desire to go and fight the rider for it. You rode him well for that day. I am sorry to hear that he was injured. I am sure on a good day (one the he choices to be a winner on) he is wonderful to watch.

  • Despite him being silly he still looked quite beautiful :) I took a young horse to a show just to let her have a look around and once everyone was gone i was going to walk around but from the second i got on she was gone just had to keep her turning and wait for her to settle down. You did very well with him and Im very sad to hear that you may never ride him again even when they play up you just cant stay mad or upset at such a beautiful animal

  • that horse is awsome you just need to be patient and lunge more mabey in the ring

  • Wow you are such a good rider ....I couldnt ever control such a fizzy borse :)

  • I'm sorry about your horse! I know how it feels to be bitched about for not being able to ride, when the horse is just the most temperamental, wound up animal ever. I'm not one of those poeple. My horse, Res, is a complete lunatic sometimes when it comes to being ridden and other people on the livery yard are constantly telling me to go and get lessons. you keep going, may of these people couldn't ride a truly complicated horse like this.

  • well done. I had a pony that was the exact same way. Let her go, she'd charge across the field. Hold her in, she'd get upset and bounce like that one. It's a tough thing to ride haha. Good job though for pushing through.

Hope he's okay, he's totally gorgeous. I would be so upset. :(

  • I thought this was well ridden. I agree that horses that like to go fast often work better on a longer rein, but Roo would've exploded, and that would've been very dangerous with other people around. I'm so sorry about Roo. Something similar happened to a pony at my barn, the vet said to put him down, but now, four years later, he can be ridden and he also jumps out of the five foot pasture fences. I hope the same kind of miracle happens for you and Roo, though maybe not the fence jumping :)
