India continues to lag behind in educating its people, with only 60% of Indias 1.12 Billion population being literate. What are the major problems in this domain that various government initiatives have not been able to tackle? Should emphasis remain on primary education? Is there a way that other challenges such as high drop-out rates, access to secondary education, teaching saleable skills and so forth can become part of a national education strategy?
