Actually the scaling is much better in this game. Enemies will scale within their range.
For example a wolf lvl range is 1-5. If you're lvl 4 the wolf will be lvl 4, but if you're lvl 9 they will stay at lvl 5. This is also true for optional bosses. Storyline bosses will always be 1-2 lvls higher.

That was too cool...Despite the somewhat 'short' range of some of the area effect(cone spread) spells, the Mage seems to be a powerful character indeed. That ogre fight was excellent. One question though. Since there isn't any respawning, do you find it hard to gain levels in order to take out these big bosses? I notice you were around level 4 or 5 on one of the previous videos.

Bosses and enemies are scaled to be within your level range to provide a challenge yet not be too powerful.
Normal enemies = your level
mini bosses (guys with yellow names) = your level +1
bosses (guys with orange names) = your level +2
I've found that the more you level up the more annoying enemy mages become.
