the gray smoke is not becours the low compression. it can be
hven the engine are kold, then can the engine don't burn all the fuel he got.

im kinda guessing at the rough running maybe due to a bit of an injector service required, my old pug used to smoke and run rough when first started, but another one identical doesn't, and a hard working life doest help either
in this circumstance probably more due to the enhanced fuelling and purely just cold diesel?

obviously it has lowered compression for running high boost, thats why it runs rough off boost.
