Anyone here from The slide bigspin trick tip?
-
@americaneyes1 Yeah but it doesn't necessarily have to be about his father, it could just be a narrative.

Kinda reminds me of I Turn My Camera On by Spoon.
-
haha you are a lame its all about being your father's son and the tie's that bind us
-
cool song :)
-
@ImTestingSleeping Definitely not, considering Spencer dedicated this song to his father during their last concert.

Jeez that drum beat. Hits. So. Hard.

@ImTestingSleeping: I kinda feel like that too... maybe it's infidelity in a very serious relationship instead of abuse? Infidelity runs higher with people who have experienced it in their families... sort of like depression. i can relate to it in the lyrics "I'll build a house inside of you, I'll go in through the mouth, i'll draw 3 figures on your heart. One of them will be me as a boy watching you run"

I thought it was about war. And a few generations of soldiers.

I always thought this song was about being domestically abused leading to more domestic abuse in the next generation.
"You are a runner" The narrator has hit his son and he runs away (metaphorically or literally)
"And I am my father's son" Narrator realizes that he is no different from his father now that he has done this.
