Short, but still a good interview. "War is a Lie" definitely seems to be a book that everyone should read, and maybe it, along with "War is a Racket", which was authored by former USMC Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler, should eventually become the most read texts in human history.

A world without war is a hope we must never abandon.

Aside from American history, what other aspect of military history is a lie?

@StDekker correct... Hitler first declared war on the US, after the US declared war on Germany's explicit military ally: Japan.
The US knew that a declaration against Japan would cause Germany to automatically declare on the US. So the US gets to say for 70 years "hey, they started it", when in reality... we all collectively started it

did he just question the AMERICAN HOLY WAR!?!?!? SHOCKING. WW2 was perfect right? that's what everyone learns in school... now my soul hurts

Germany (and Italy) first declared war on the US - as declared in the US Joint Resolution of December 12. The attack on Pearl Harbor only justified a declaration of war against Japan and it was NOT used by the US as an 'excuse' for the war in Europe.

I confess I have not read this book but will because I think this way too. However to question WW2 as unjust needs some analysis. When Nazi Germany was bombing London and other areas of the UK that was pretty aggressive.

Neocunts?
A very small minority of people who have owned land for centuries are the ones who benefit from war. In England less than 1% of the population owns over 60% of the land and they collect their rent from the businesses and public services that use their land. Farm subsidies indirectly bolster their estates. When a citizen volunteers to go to war to fight for his country he is fighting primarily for the preservation of a centralised political system that keeps this secret wealth hidden from

Parliamentary scrutiny, partly because Parliament is run by civil servants who serve the elite. Were this not the case the Land Registry would make available to the public a complete account of who owns what and how much they collect in rent each year. A soldier is fighting for a place called 'country' but the place he owns is nothing compared to what the Lords and Ladies own. If the 'country' is threatened with invasion the greatest threat is to the few who own most of the country's assets
