Summer Saturday HSTs 24.5.08

A fantastic day chasing HSTs! The day began at 07:50 when National Express set 43206+43056 storm through Oldfield Park with a fantastic 2tone, A green light was on the approaching signal but the emergancy breaks were applied and came to a stand still a little off the edge of the Platform! A fantastic sound coming from 43056 as the set leaves the signal.
The next service was a National Express HST Powered by newly liveried and engined 43309 and Valenta powered 43108. This set was working 1C29 Manchester Piccidilly-Newquay.
Then was the time for the real fun, a fantastic bash from Temple Meads-Parkway with 43056 on the front and 43206 on the rear of 1E46 Paignton-Newcastle. They then depart in fine style from Parkway.
Back at Temple Meads we then see 43104+43166 with 1z47 Newquay-Edinburgh followed by 43007+43184 on 1V49 Edinburgh-Newquay. Both with superb departs and 2tones.

me and my mate were heading home to peterborough on that day from paington at dawlish we saw one of these national expresses and being peterborough people we thought we were seeing things and wondered why we saw a national express hst LOL when we saw the all white unit we knew we wern't seeing things great movie there of unusual actions

I spent the day going from Tiverton to Paignton and back to Exeter St Davids, then to Newquay and back, not bad for my birthday!!
