  • There are two groups I'm crazy about now, Old Crow Medicine Show and Steep Canyon rangers. Their CDs are the only CD's I've purchased in a long time.

Kind of happy there is some stuff I wanna listen too now, most music got kind of stale for me. :)

  • @BiggieB99 Nick sure as hell can make that fiddle wail! But all these guys are great! Forgive me for sounding a bit biased, but I think you were fortunate to have these guys as friends, especially my 'cuz'!

  • @thespeez

Both Woody and Michael are former classmates of mine in school. And both are great people. Haven't met the other guys, but if they're with Woody and Mike, I'm not worried at all about them. :)

Great music, and I'm especially impressed by Nick (violin/fiddle)

  • Saw the Rangers at the Station Inn in Nashville. OUTSTANDING SHOW!

  • I'm happy to say I'm a distant cousin of Woody's (he and I are second-cousins-once-removed). I've been to two concerts so far and was quite impressed!

  • I hope to catch them when they play in Germany at the end of the year :-)

  • I grew up in Western North Carolina. I heard bluegrass occasionally, but didn't pay much attention to it in my teens. Now in my 30's, this band didn't bring me back to the mountains, (the MOUNTAINS brought me back) but they definitely make me proud to be back.

I went to school with a couple of the members, and I'm happy to see them succeed, but I'm extremely proud of the entire band for creating music that draws on and respects history, yet also creates it's own path to the future.

  • They're coming to Greensburg PA on June 5th this year.

  • They blew everyone away at Boxcar Pinion !!...great show !

  • SCR's are a top shelf bluegrass band, it's good o see a band with original material.
