Is the grappeling funcion controlled by the touchscreen? Anyway I can't wait for this to come out in Europe, I have both the other ds castlevanias

No, grappling is one of "glyphs" assignable to the R-button. There are other R-button glyphs, too, including buffs, summons and those that transform Shanoa into monsters.

Actually there's no use for the touchscreen except maybe a few irrelevant things like warp, etc.
